Police are warning Englewood residents after two strong-arm robberies were reported last week.

In both cases the suspect approached someone and hit them in the face before stealing their phones and cash, Chicago police said in an alert.

Both incidents happened Oct. 12 in the 5600 block of South Racine Avenue, police said. The first was between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., and the second was at 9 p.m.

The suspect is described as a man 30 to 40-years-old, bald and 250 to 300 pounds, police said. His nickname is “Wicked Wayne” or “Wicky.”

Anyone with information of the robberies is asked to contact Area South detectives at 312-747-8273.
