Two carjackings happened about an hour apart Tuesday in West Town and Edgewater.

In West Town, a 50-year-old man and 35-year-old woman were sitting in a grey Range Rover about 7:40 p.m. when two males got out of a silver Dodge Charger in the 1500 block of West Huron Street and forced them out at gunpoint, Chicago police said.

The robbers took the pair’s wallets and cellphones, then fled in the Range Rover, police said.

About an hour later, three males got out of a Jeep Cherokee and forced a man and woman, both 27, out of a black 2021 Dodge Charger in the 1000 block of West Hollywood Avenue, police said.

Threatening them with guns, they forced the pair to give up their wallets and cellphones, and took the keys to the woman’s orange 2020 Dodge Charger before fleeing in both vehicles, police said. They left behind the Jeep, which had been reported stolen earlier.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

Police said Tuesday evening there was no immediate indication that the carjackings were related.

Area detectives are investigating.
