Police are warning Northwest Side residents after two armed robberies were reported this month in Logan Square.

In both cases, someone armed with a handgun approached a person and demanded their wallet, Chicago police said in a community alert. The suspect then took cash and returned the wallet before fleeing on foot.

The earliest robbery happened about 1:09 a.m. July 1 in the 3500 block of West Wolfram Street, police said. The latest occurred about 1:18 a.m. July 10 in the 2900 block of North Gresham Avenue.

The suspect is described as a 25 to 30-year-old man, standing 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and weighing 150-180 pounds.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
