Two people wearing masks and armed with handguns robbed a 7-Eleven store Friday in Avondale on the Northwest Side.

The males entered the store about 3 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Belmont Avenue and displayed handguns, Chicago police said.

They demanded the store clerk, a 38-year-old man, and a customer, a 28-year-old man, lay down on the floor, police said. The robbers then took money from the register, items from the store and property from the men before fleeing.

No injuries were reported, police said. No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
