Pair in ski masks burglarize Wheaton home: police

The male implied he had a gun to a witness, but never took it out.

Two people in ski masks broke into a home Monday in west suburban Wheaton.

Officers were called to the 400 block of West Front Street after two people burglarized the home jewelry about 11:45 a.m., Wheaton police said in a statement.

A male and female wearing ski masks had forced their way into the residence while the homeowners were away, police said. When a witness interrupted them, the male burglar said he had a gun but never showed one.

The pair drove off in a white Mercedes Benz with a possible partial Illinois license plate 6529, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Wheaton police at 630-260-2077.
