Two men have been charged after a Liverpool city centre assault which left a man in a critical condition.
The 29-year-old suffered serious head injuries after being assaulted on Seel Street in the early hours of Saturday.
Emergency services were called shortly before 3am after reports a man had been assaulted by a small group of men.
The scene was cordoned off for examination and three men were subsequently arrested.
Police said two men were due to appear at Liverpool magistrates’ court today.
They are Joseph Brian Musumeci, 28, of Mealen Way, Bognor Regis and another man.
They have been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and common assault. Joseph Brian Musumeci was also charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.
