Two more people have been charged over a cocaine trafficking syndicate linked to a raft of rugby league players.

A Gold Coast man and woman were on Friday night charged with offences including the possession of drugs.

The 58-year-old man from Surfers Paradise was also charged with drug supply and making a false statement in an Australian passport application. He was due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday.

The woman, aged 36 and from Robina, is due to appear in the same court on 11 May.

Neither is believed to be linked to any sporting clubs.

The pair was arrested as part of the same Crime and Corruption Commission investigation that led to charges for Queensland Reds rugby star Karmichael Hunt and a number of rugby league players.

Current or former Gold Coast Titans players Greg Bird, Dave Taylor, Ashley Harrison, Kalifa Faifai Loa, Joe Vickery, Beau Falloon and Jamie Dowling, are all facing charges of drug possession or supply.

Former Sydney Roosters first grade players John Touma and John Raymond Tobin are accused of playing key roles in the supply of cocaine, while ex-NRL players Matt Seers and Jason Smith are also facing charges.

Hunt, 28, was last month fined $2,500 after pleading guilty to four counts of cocaine possession.

He also received a six-week suspension and $30,000 fine from rugby officials.
