Pair arrested as police swoop in drugs operation in Wishaw street

A man and a woman were arrested and a substantial amount of drugs seized, during an intelligence-led operation in Wishaw.

Officers recovered the drugs, believed to be cocaine with a street value of around £80,000, in Bentfoot Road yesterday (Wednesday November 20).

The 60-year-old man and the woman, aged 54 years, both from Cheshire are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today Thursday, November 21.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Another man (45) was released pending further enquiries.
