Pair arrested after pensioner, 87, is robbed twice in his own home

Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with an elderly man robbed twice at his home.

The 84-year-old was targeted at his home in the May Gardens area of Hamilton on September 27 and 28 with a significant figure of cash being stolen.

A 51-year-old man and 50-year-old woman have now been arrested.

They are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today (Tuesday).

Detective Sergeant Kevin Clark, from Lanarkshire CID, said: "I'd like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation, allowing us to bring some peace of mind to the victim."
