Pair arrested after man found in critical condition on Lanarkshire street

Two males have been arrested after a man was found in a critical condition on a Coatbridge street.

Emergency services raced to the town's Sikeside Street at 12.25am on Friday to reports of a 60-year-old man discovered with serious injuries.

The male was found in the street and rushed to Monklands Hospital, where he remains in a very serious condition,

Two men, aged 24 and 55, have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.25am on Friday, November 19, police were called to an address is Sikeside Street, Coatbridge, where a 60-year-old man was found seriously injured.

"He was taken by ambulance to Monklands Hospital, where he remains for treatment. Medical staff describe his condition as critical.

"Two men, aged 24 and 55-years-old, have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing."
