Two men have admitted assault after their victim was stabbed in the head in a pub.
The man was seriously injured during the incident at the Vine Tavern in St Helens, having also been knifed in the chest and arms shortly before 9pm on August 6 this year. Gareth and Frankie Parr appeared at Liverpool Crown Court this morning, Monday, in connection with the incident.
The former, of no fixed address but previously of Gibbons Avenue, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article in a public place. The 19-year-old, who appeared via video link to HMP Altcourse, also admitted breaching a suspended sentence order - having flouted a curfew he was handed in June as part of an 18-month imprisonment suspended for two years on three dates the following month, as well as failing to attend an appointment with the probation service on July 25.
