Paintball centre goes up in flames as four fire engines descend on scene

A blaze broke out at a disused paintball centre in Kirkby late last night.

Fire crews were called to the site in New Cut Lane, on the border of Kirkby and Rainford.

When they arrived at the scene at 11.24pm on Thursday, the building was described as "well alight."

Four fire engines were at the scene with crews fighting the fire externally.

By 12.30am today, the main body of the fire had been extinguished and crews were damping down with high pressure hose reel jets.
