A unique combination of paintbrushes and pint glasses is heading for Charlie’s Bar in Enniskillen.
The event on January 29 is being run by Dublin-based ‘Paint by the Pints’ with customers receiving a painting class alongside their drinks.
In true Charlie’s fashion, the picture to be painted by the group on the night will be an image of the Guinness toucans.
Charlie’s manager Una Burns said it was something different that they have had a lot of interest in already.
“I love the idea of people painting while they have a few drinks and I had seen similar events popping up in Belfast and Dublin, so I thought why not in Enniskillen," she said.
“January usually is a quieter month for hospitality in general, so I thought it might be a bit fun and quirky for people to look forward to.
“The beauty of it is that it can continue in the current legislation with the current restrictions.
“What I like about the company that we are running it with is that for every canvass completed on the night they will donate one euro to Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
“Given the year we’ve all had I thought it was a really nice idea, where people can come and have a fun and social event but also feel like they are giving back a wee bit."
Una added there was only one image that was in contention for the class painting.
“We could have chosen any image to paint but Charlie’s is well known for serving a great pint of Guinness, so I thought it was only right that we painted the famous Guinness toucans," she said.
“Each ticket includes all the art supplies as well as a first drink, then you’re taught step by step by the teacher that’s there.
“There has been a good response so far, we have some couples and people celebrating their birthdays or hen parties.
“People are just happy to be planning something as it has been a tough few weeks and it’s good to have something to look forward to.”
