Paige Turley wins Love Island and shares cash prize with Finn Tapp

West Lothian’s Paige Turley has been named the winner of Winter Love Island 2020 in South Africa.

Paige, from Fauldhouse, was crowned the champion of the hit ITV show on Sunday night alongside Finn Tapp (20), with the smitten couple delighted to share the £50,000 cash prize.

The 22-year-old, who once dated Lewis Capaldi, managed to overcame the odds to beat the bookies’ favourites Siannise Fudge and Luke Trotman.

Speaking to host Laura Whitmore, Paige said that it had been “such an amazing experience” and “filled with challenges”.

Pressed on what he loved about Paige, Finn revealed he had been struck by the Scot’s humour saying: “I wasn’t wrong for picking her because she makes me laugh!”.

Earlier in the programme, Finn - a semi-professional footballer from Milton Keynes - spoke movingly about Paige as the finalists made their declarations of love for each other.

Breaking down in tears in the pre-recorded segment, he said: “Paigey, I want you to know I love you.”

Paige – the first Scottish Love Island winner – told him: “You brought out a side to me that no-one has ever seen.”

The final also paid tribute to host Caroline Flack who tragically died on Saturday, February 15, at the age of 40.

Paige is no stranger to the small screen. She took to the stage on Britain’s Got Talent stage in 2012 aged 14.
