Paige Turley says Love Island faced 'meltdown' after fears contestants 'had been kidnapped'

Love Island security were sent into "meltdown" after they feared the boys on the 2020 winter series in South Africa had been kidnapped.

Scottish winner Paige Turley, who won the series alongside Finley Tapp, has recalled the moment that the boys were seemingly lost while returning from a challenge.

The 24-year-old was speaking about her experience on the ITV2 show on her YouTube channel and recalled the moment that show producers feared the lads were missing.

Love Island bosses and security had started panicking after a bus loaded with the boys had got lost on their way back to the villa - and they feared the worst.

Paige revealed: "There was one day when we were coming back from a challenge."

She continued: "You'd always have a mini bus for the girls and a mini bus for the boys.

"Where the challenge took place was literally a five minute drive, if that.

"So one day the boys got into the mini bus but took the wrong turn and went out the resort."

Paige explained the drama that was unfolding at the villa as the boys failed to show up.

She said: "Team security were just having an absolute meltdown. They were thinking like 'oh my gosh. We have lost a bus of L ove Island guys.

"It was a shame. It was the bus drivers first day and he just took a wrong turn.

"So there was no sweat, no kidnapping but it was pretty entertaining to watch."

Paige also said that she got on the wrong side of producers as she would be "stealing drinks" from the larder, behind their backs.

She said: "Everybody's drinks would be there but you could tip half of everybody else's drink into your drink.

"Callum (Jones) and I had nights we were more tipsy than everybody else and they said if there was any more drink stealing they would cut us off."

Paige also revealed that she will be looking for a house with boyfriend Finley as she spoke in her YouTube Q and A.

She said: "We'll be ready for a house and garden and a bit more room!"
