One of Britain's smallest daily papers, the Heartland Evening News, is adopting a part-free, part paid-for publishing strategy. The paper, which is also changing its name to the Nuneaton News, will be a paid-for on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, but distributed free to 45,000 homes on Wednesdays along with a weekly property supplement.
Staffordshire Newspapers' publishing director Richard Carey said: "This is a unique venture and we see it is part of our ongoing service to our customers." (Via holdthefrontpage)
