A paedophile teacher who had sex with a 15-year-old student has been reportedly dumped by her husband despite him vowing to stay by her side.
Disgraced Kandice Barber was jailed for six years and two months in March 2021 after being found guilty of grooming a child, taking him to a field and kissing him on the neck before asking him "what do you want to do now?".
The 36-year-old then had sex with the boy, although she later threatened to falsely accuse him of rape if he reported her, reports the Mirror.
It was reported during the trial that Barber's husband Daniel vowed he would stay by her side while she was locked up and even defended her, describing his wife from Wendover, Buckinghamshire, as his "rock".
Last February Barber's mum confirmed the pair were still together, however it has now been reported that they have split.
Photos on social media appear to show Daniel beaming with a new lover by his side. According to Mail Online, the couple have been dating for months and are planning to start a family together.
As a source said: "He has moved out of the family home where he lived with her. There's no sign of him there these days."
Barber was jailed at Aylesbury Crown Court in March 2021, with Recorder Bal Dhaliwal saying: "You acted in gross breach of trust. You took advantage of a child in your care and groomed him for your own sexual gratification."
The judge described the mum-of-three's actions as "beyond despicable".
Prosecutor David Povall summarised a victim's personal statement from the teenager in which he said Barber "was supposed to help him make the right decisions, but helped him to make all the wrong decisions".
Mr Povall said: "He was at school and he came into contact with the defendant. She was in a position of trust. He has been caused stress and anxiety having to go through two trials. He is concerned his family and friends have also suffered.
"His GCSEs were not as good as they should have been, partly as a result."
Judge Dhaliwal described how Barber added herself to the victim's Snapchat account and exchanged messages with the boy which became sexual within a week.
She said: "You also sent images, including a topless image of yourself, and a live video in which you were masturbating. All of these acts are tantamount to you grooming him and pulling him in, and with significant planning on your part."
During one incident, the court heard Barber asked the boy to meet her, going to a private field and having sex with him.
The judge said: "You called him and asked to meet. He agreed and you walked into some private fields. You began kissing him. You asked if he wanted to have sex, he agreed."
After Barber was jailed, Daniel posted an online tribute to his wife with a kissing emoji, and the caption "always".
