ANTI-IMMIGRATION protesters at a demonstration in Edinburgh over the weekend were promoting the YouTube channel of a convicted paedophile.
At the “Enough is Enough” anti-migration rally outside the Scottish Parliament on Saturday – which had been organised by Holocaust-denier Alistair McConnachie’s fringe group “A Force for Good” – The National’s reporter was offered a flyer by a young child promoting the YouTube channel “AJ Audits”.
The child said she was 10-years-old and had been asked to pass out the flyers by her mother. The mother, who declined to give her name, said AJ Audits was “real news” and snatched the flyer from The National’s reporter’s hand.
AJ Audits was run by far-right activist Anthony Styles, a convicted paedophile who spent more than four years in jail for molesting a girl under the age of 14.
Styles also admitted to sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl and possessing more than 300 indecent images of children. He is on the sex offenders register for life and has also been handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Styles claimed to work for the “protection of women and children”, making videos outside hotels where he interviewed others about the alleged dangers posed by asylum seekers.
His "AJ Audits" YouTube channel has been deleted after his past convictions were reported by The Times over the weekend.
Stand Up To Racism first connected Styles to the AJ Audits channel after seeing his name on a fake press pass he wore to an anti-immigration protest.
Lewis Nielsen, a Stand Up to Racism anti-fascist officer, said: “These revelations show the far right have never cared about women’s rights, they’ve been harbouring convicted offenders in their midst. The hypocrisy is off the charts.
“This man has claimed to be protecting women and girls while hiding his own convictions. Refugees aren’t the threat to women, the real threat are far far-right fanboys of Elon Musk.”
The revelations about Styles have led to other far-right activists kicking him out of social media groups and channels, the Independent reported.
“I want to make it known that this streamer, AJ Audits, is not welcome at any of Norwich’s future demos,” one activist wrote on Facebook. “This man, named Anthony Styles, is a convicted child sex offender. Found with over 300 indecent images of children, sexually assaulting an 11-year-old, and also an upset 17-year-old, this man is NOT to be around near children, nor survivors.”
Around 75 people attended the Force for Good-organised rally outside Holyrood on Saturday. They were outnumbered by the 250-300 who turned up to a Stand Up To Racism counterprotest, and the 2500-3000 who joined an All Under One Banner Scottish independence rally at the same time.
