A paedophile kept more than 400 images of child sex abuse.

Haggett appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today where he admitted three counts of making indecent photographs of children between September 3, 2019 and October 26, 2020.

According to the charges he kept 83 Category A images, 123 Category B images and 231 Category C images.

He was also charged with possession of all of the images between August 3, 2019 and December 21, 2020.

Haggett, of North Road, St Helens, denied one count of distributing indecent photographs of a child.

Paul Blasbery, prosecuting, explained the pleas were acceptable to the Crown.

Tom Watson, representing Haggett, asked for the sentence to be adjourned to allow for the preparation of a pre sentence report.

The judge, Recorder Tom Payne, said: "Clearly the matter now falls for sentence but the court needs more information about you before deciding what that eventual sentence will be."

The case was adjourned until October 13, and Haggett was released on conditional bail.

He was also ordered to comply with notification requirements and keep the police informed of his personal details in the run up to his sentence.
