Padres' Matt Kemp sells his desert home with 20 TVs for $3.135 million

Oct. 16--San Diego Padres outfielder Matt Kemp has parted ways with his home in Paradise Valley, Ariz., selling the loaded desert estate for $3.135 million.

Set on a corner lot, the 1990s Contemporary-style house contains a highlight-reel worth of features including, but not limited to, 20 flat-screen televisions, a movie theater with stadium seating, and a resort-style swimming pool and spa.

Dressed in polished steel accents, custom lighting and walls of glass, the 6,700 square feet of living space on a single story includes living and dining rooms, an office, an updated kitchen and a family room with custom built-ins. A separate game room has wine storage and a wet bar.

Four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms includes a master suite complete with a two-way fireplace, a steam shower and a pair of custom walk-in closets.

Outdoors, landscaped grounds of more than an acre center on a 60-foot swimming pool and spa and an adjacent step-down kitchen/wet bar set within a secondary pool. Various sitting areas, fountain features, a detached casita and a sports court are also within the grounds.

A circular driveway with a fountain sits off the entrance to the home.

Kemp put the property on the market in May for $3.5 million. He bought the house in 2010 for $2.05 million, records show.

Daniel Williams of Sunbelt Realty Business Advisors was the listing agent. Michael Kupanoff of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Arizona Properties represented the buyer.

Kemp, two times an All-Star, was traded by the Dodgers to the Padres last offseason in a five-player deal. The 31-year-old hit .265 with 23 home runs and 100 RBIs in 154 games for San Diego this year.
