Pádraic Joyce set to be appointed Galway football manager

Pádraic Joyce is set to be proposed as the new manager of the Galway footballers.

The current under-20's boss will be put forward for ratification after beating former Tipperary boss Liam Kearns for the post.

The two-time All-Ireland winner is set to be joined by former Galway team-mate John Divilly as coach/selector and Milltown’s John Concannon as a selector.

Joyce replaces Kevin Walsh - who stepped down during the summer after Galway lost their Connacht crown and crashed out of the Championship at the hands of bitter rivals Mayo.

Galway will travel across the Atlantic to take on New York in the Connacht SFC quarter-finals next summer in a bid to set up a semi-final clash with Sligo.
