'Padosi abhi bhi awaz karne ki koshish kar rahe hai': Irfan Pathan takes an indirect dig at Pakistan

NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan appeared to take an indirect dig at Pakistan following India's victory in the Asia Cup, where they secured their record eighth title by defeating defending champions Sri Lanka in Colombo on Sunday.

Pathan's comments likely reflect the intense cricketing rivalry between India and Pakistan and the joy that Indian fans feel when their team succeeds against Pakistan or any other opponent.

Mohammed Siraj, who claimed a career best figures of 6-21, delivered a standout performance in the final that single-handedly dominated the proceedings and ultimately secured India's first team trophy since 2018.

Irfan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote, "Padosi abhi bhi Awaz Karne ki Koshish Kar rahe hai, Lekin Colombo Tak unki Awaaz pahoch nahi rahi hai."

Siraj's exceptional performance was the key factor in India's victory, and his remarkable contribution to the team's success was widely acknowledged. His standout performance in the final undoubtedly made him the star of the match.

India cruised to a comfortable ten-wicket win in the Asia Cup final, handing Sri Lanka a historically heavy defeat. Having bowled out Sri Lanka for 50 runs, Indian openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill knocked off the target in just 6.1 overs to secure the victory.
