Paddy Power pay out on Man City to win Premier League title before Liverpool FC fixture

Manchester City travel to Liverpool in a game that could put them in full control of the Premier League title race - or throw it wide open again.

City are two points clear of Manchester United in second after Everton stole a late point at Old Trafford, with the Blues holding two games in hand over their rivals.

Pep Guardiola's side are also seven clear of defending champions Liverpool, who they face on Sunday at Anfield, knowing they can go ten points clear of Jurgen Klopp's men if they can record a first victory away at Anfield since 2003.

While there is still a long way to go, Liverpool will know any hopes they have of defending their title will require taking three points off City later, especially with City holding a game in hand against them.

But regardless of what happens at Anfield, one bookmaker thinks Liverpool - or any other side - will not be able to catch City who are the form side and in a great position to improve their current cushion over second.

Taking out an advert in Sunday's Manchester Evening News, Paddy Power have confirmed they have paid out on bets for City to win the Premier League title for 2020/21.

The Blues have moved into clear odds-on favourites in recent weeks as their 13-game unbeaten run has coincided with blips for United, Liverpool, Leicester and others.

So despite facing Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal in their next three games, Paddy Power have made the decision to pay out on City to win the league such is their confidence in their current form.

A spokesman for Paddy Power said: “We’ve paid out early on Manchester City winning the Premier League title, even before their visit to Liverpool.

“I can’t see what could possibly go wrong, it’s not like we’ve ever got any of these wrong before."
