Paddy Power Millionaire Chase: Stuart King nurses hangover as he discovers horse is non-runner

Stuart King woke up on Saturday morning nursing a hangover and to the news that his 'Millionaire Chase' horse was a non-runner.

King is in with a chance of winning a cool £1m on Saturday in the Imperial Chase at Sandown.

The Banbridge Town boss was initially drawn Highway One O Two for the race, but it has now been ruled out of the Grade 3 hurdle event.

The 'Millionaire Chase' promotion, run by Paddy Power, has been an emotional rollercoaster for former Irish League winger King.

He has already won £10,000 but he now has a one in 11 chance of adding another £990,000 to that prize.

To make matters worse, the 'Millonaire Chase' has already been postponed three times due to bad weather, but (fingers crossed) it will finally get the go-ahead at Sandown on Saturday (2.25pm).

With Highway One O Two out of the race, King now has a new selection carrying his hopes.

It was confirmed that he has been drawn Hasanabad for the big race, a horse that has been backed in from 25/1 down to 8/1 (Paddy Power).

Speaking on Twitter on Saturday morning, King joked: "Morning. Head's banging, too many beers last night. So. I woke up to a million messages on my phone. Highway One O Two is a non-runner, so I am now on Hasanabad which is been backed in from 25s to 11s.

"This is mental! So, come on Hasanabad! Yes!"
