Paddy Pimblett warned by UFC legend about weight gain ahead of fight return

Paddy Pimblett has been warned by former UFC fighter turned commentator Paul Felder about his weight gain in between fights.

The Liverpudlian is believed to be making his return to the ring in March after he his quick jump to stardom following his spectacular UFC debut in September with a victory over Luigi Vendramini.

The performance put ' Paddy the Baddy ' on the map, with his Instagram account blowing up to 860,000 followers from fewer than 50,000 before the fight.

And if we needed any more proof of his popularity, Paddy was also shown in the audience at UFC 268 in November, with the crowd breaking out in applause when his presence was known.

His triumph against Vendramini came in fine style but he was on the receiving end of some blows - making it an exciting fight for fans to witness.

Now back in training, Pimblett is already looking in better shape than what we saw him just a couple of months ago.

The Liverpool fighter admitted that he gained 35 lbs - that's two-and-a-half stone - in two months following his win.

And ahead of what looks to be a busy year for Pimblett, who has stated his intentions of fighting three times, Felder has warned him on the dangers of his off-season antics.

He said: "I think he's going to be a lot of fun. I don't know where he's gonna go right away. I think he's gonna see some losses early in his career to some of these top guys, but I think that he's just new blood, he's new life.

"The guy is hilarious, he's fun to watch, he fights his a** off when he goes out there.

"You saw him go for it. He's kind of, doesn't really worry too much about staying safe out there but he's got the skills and I'm excited to see where he lines up.

"I just like his style and I like his attitude.

"But Paddy, stop blowing up to 200 pounds in-between fights, man. It's not worth it."

After his win against Vendramini, Pimblett went on a media tour and stated that he would take some time off.

In that time, his popularity grew, as he signed a seven-figure deal with Barstool Sports as a content creator.

Pimblett is currently spending time between Liverpool and San Diego as he prepares for his next fight, which could be against another UFC legend, Cowboy Cerrone.
