Paddy Pimblett sets out rules for potential fight with YouTube star Jake Paul

Paddy Pimblett has claimed Jake Paul would need to secure a fight between the pair through the UFC and would ensure drug testing is in place.

The Liverpudlian star has shot to fame in the last year as he kicked on to pick up his second and third victories in the UFC. His brash talking personality and entertaining fight antics have seen his profile rise, which has seen him land himself in hot water with YouTube star Paul who is now prominent in the world of boxing.

Pimblett claimed Paul's fights were a "fix" by providing footage of his rival's recent win over Anderson Silva, which prompted Paul to offer the Briton a chance at a sparring session for a prize of $1 million. After days of back and forth over a training clash, Pimblett has now revealed what it would take for him to step in the ring professionally with Paul.

"If you wanna have a fight with me, let's get it on," Pimblett told UFC legend Michael Bisping in an interview with BT Sport when discussing a potential clash with Paul. "Get your manager to talk to my manager, we'll sort it through the UFC and through everyone you wanna sort it with. It won't be on your terms like you do with everyone else. You'll have to do a drug test, and we'll see."

Paul has regularly picked feuds with UFC stars during his career and has already fought the likes of former champion Tyron Woodley and contender Ben Askren. His recent exchange of verbal barbs with Pimblett has now led to him proposing a sparring session in his gym in Puerto Rico with a win set to see Pimblett sign up for his Fighters Union.

Pimblet t initially accepted the offer but will be unable to attend the planned date given the short turnaround after his upcoming fight with Jared Gordon at UFC 282 in Las Vegas tomorrow night. And the Liverpudlian has also become angered with following his rival's terms and has admitted he would tempted to throw a kick or takedown if they settle their dispute.

“If I felt like it though, when I was sparring him I’d just pick him up and drop him on his head couldn’t I?," Pimblett said during the latest video on his YouTube channel. "You know what I mean? If I felt like it. I could just shoot in, pick him up, drop him on his fog, and then kick him in the face on the floor if I wanted to. You know what I mean?

"You want to have a real fight? I’ve said to him, ‘Come and spar me on the 12th in the Performance Institute in Vegas. I’m there on the Monday, come and spar me. Let’s do it.’ And he says, ‘Oh I’ve got something I need to do. Come to Puerto Rico on the 19th or the 20th.’ No lad, I’m not doing it on your terms.

“If I fought Jake Paul, he’d have to come down to 180lb, maybe even 175lb. I fight at 155lb, he fights at 195lb so we can meet in the middle. That’s the thing with Jake Paul, he always wants it on his terms. He’ll never have it with someone on an even playing field.”
