Paddy Pimblett issues Jack Shore advice and hails Liverpool as MMA's 'meta'

Paddy Pimblett has shared his admiration for fellow British fighter Jack Shore, while naming Liverpool as the 'meta' for the mixed martial arts scene in the UK.

'Paddy the Baddy' defeated Luigi Vendramini in his debut UFC fight on Saturday night, on an evening where Shore, Molly McCann and Tom Aspinall also flew the flag for Britain with victories.

The evening in Las Vegas was further evidence of the success of the Britain in MMA, with plenty of excellent fighters making their way stateside.

Among them is Welsh fighter Shore, someone Paddy rates extremely highly, while he's also looking forward to seeing Mason Jones back in the Octagon.

“Jack Shore goes under the radar so much, I need to give him some pointers on how to talk on the mic. He gets a little bit of a voice and he is a force to be reckoned with," he told the Liverpool Echo.

I know there’s some people are bland and aren’t about that but Jack just needs to say a name or something now because he’s so good.

“I can’t wait to see Mason Jones fight again, he’s had a tough run at the start of his UFC career. There’s also people like Arnold Allen, who is close to a title shot, Leon Edwards who is next in line.

"We’ve got so many fighters at the minute. There’s just Brits everywhere and a lot of these train and fight out of Liverpool it’s the meta for MMA."

Pimblett is not interested in talking up a potential bout with a fellow Brit though and is happy to let everyone else do the name-dropping for future bouts.

“I don’t really want to fight anyone, people want to fight me. My names on everyone’s lips, I don’t need to say anyone’s name, it’s just standard now.

"People can talk about me, I won’t talk about anyone. I won’t be putting any publicity out on anyone’s name, I don’t need that s***.”
