Paddy Pimblett has fired a warning to his potential future rivals in the UFC by saying he's ready to 'make a statement' in the sport.
The Liverpool-born former Cage Warriors featherweight champion has an impressive MMA record so far, having secured 16-3-0, with five knockouts and seven victories via submission.
A well-rounded fighter, known for his strong grappling, Pimblett is now looking to establish himself as a star in the UFC scene.
He will make his debut next week, against unranked Luigi Vendramini, which also sees him make the move back up from featherweight into the lightweight division.
Ahead of that clash, Pimblett has fired a warning to his rivals in the division as he issued an update to his fans regarding his preparation.
“Might sound cliche leading into a fight, but I really am in the best shape of my life! And I’m coming to make a statement, just wait and see people felt on fire with my man yesterday," he said on Instagram.
Pimblett has attracted plenty of attention ahead of his debut, having received a good luck message from Conor McGregor.
"Good luck Paddy, I was outside your gaff all hours with your man with long hair thats doing 30 year now [sic] forget his name," he said on Twitter.
The 26-year-old could build towards the chance to fight against an opponent in the top 15 if he performs well in the UFC, with potential huge contests on the cards for the future.
That could include fights with the likes of Dan Hooker and Pimblett is already considered to be one to watch in the coming years.
