Paddy McGuinness makes jab at Patsy Palmer and opens up on 'non-existent' home-schooling

Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday where he spoke to hosts Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins about lockdown.

Paddy and wife Christine share three children - twins Leo and Penelope, seven, and four-year-old daughter Felicity, all three of whom have been diagnosed with autism.

In 2017 they learned that Leo and Penelope had the disorder, before Felicity was diagnosed last year.

Paddy explained: "The home schooling has been pretty much non-existent really. Listen, if you can do that and you've got the time, and your kids are switched on to doing it at home and everything else, that's great.

"But for me I was all about keeping them happy, we read with them and encourage them to do things, sports, drawing and painting, and writing, but I never sat down doing any kinds of lessons with them.

"It just would't have worked, I didn't want to make them unhappy because it was already a weird time."

He added: "The first day I took my kids to school and saw all the other parents high-fiving each other was a lovely feeling.

"Its been tough, but I thank my lucky stars that we made it through."

Paddy's tagline as he appeared on screen was "Comedy Genius Paddy McGuinness" and he made a cheeky joke about if, referencing Patsy Palmer, who ended her interview immediately on Wednesday's show.

He said: "Look at that comedy genius, that it what you want, I won't be going anywhere during this interview, I'll still be here on Monday."

Patsy, who played Bianca Jackson on EastEnders, was deeply offended as she read text at the bottom of the screen that said "addict to wellness guru", a quote from her book.

She said: "You know what, I don't even want to do this interview, because I don't even want to look what it says at the bottom of that screen.

"So I am just going to switch off, do a real Piers Morgan, and say it's not okay to have 'addict to wellness guru' on the bottom of the screen."

Susanna said: "Oh huge apologies for that!"

Patsy said: "My issues that I had years ago, that were talked about many years ago, and it's over, so I am not going to talk to you, don't worry about it but I don't want to talk to you," and hung up.

Ben said: "It wasn't our intention, Patsy, certainly wasn't our intention to hurt Patsy," and explained "addict to wellness guru" was a quote from her book.
