Paddy McGuinness divides fans as he asks for advice after 'calm' Christmas

Paddy McGuinness has divided fans after he asked for advice following a "calm" Christmas.

It has been a joyful festive season for the comedian who shares three children, who all have autism, with former Miss Liverpool Christine McGuinness.

The family have opened up in the past about how Christmas can be difficult for anyone suffering with the condition, but Felicity, Leo and Penelope achieved a number of milestones this year.

The parents were beaming with pride as they revealed the children overcome their anxieties to help decorate the tree and try Christmas dinner.

Christine told her Instagram followers: "We had a surprisingly calm day!

"Leo opened his presents slowly (he still has some unopened and that’s ok).

"Penelope wanted to tidy everything away at 9am (so did mummy) and then spent most of the day in her room and that’s fine.

"Felicity got quite overstimulated and needed some afternoon quiet time (like daddy).

"Happy kids, happy mummy, happy Christmas."

Paddy shared hilarious updates from the family's big day as he revealed he needed "Rennies, Gaviscon and some massage oil" after overindulging with his Christmas dinner.

The decadent spirit of the season has taken its toll on the 48-year-old as he announced on Instagram he's ready to move on from Christmas.

He said: "When do you take your tree down? These days I’m done after Boxing Day, just want to put it back in the garage till next year! I still love Chrimbo but after the big day it all gets a bit Lionel."

Paddy's question divided followers as fans were split on when is the right time to take down the Christmas tree.

Tracey said: "I took ours down yesterday"

Cyndi commented: "Always Boxing Day! After Christmas day all the decorations lose their sparkle for me . Merry Boxing Day"

Danielle posted: "I like all the decs up for New Year’s Eve then take them down New Year’s Day."

Jade added: "Never start the new year with the tree still up"

Claire commented: "Leave it up until the 6th ish!"

Justin messaged: "First week in January for me!!! Love it up for the new year!"
