Paddy McGuinness bags hosting gig on new BBC music game show I Can See Your Voice

Paddy McGuinness is set to host a new music game show that will air on the BBC.

The former Take Me Out presenter, 46, will be the face of the new series names I Can See Your Voice, which will have a primetime slot on the TV channel.

The new singing series - which could rival ITV's super hit The Masked Singer that sees celebrities sing hidden under extravagant costumes as they try to conceal their true identities - will see the two players aiming to win a cash prize by guessing who can and can't sing from a group of mystery singers standing before them.

Helping the players will be a panel of celebrity experts, who are joined each week by a different singing superstar.

The format is based on a series from South Korea that started in 2015 and even won an International Emmy nomination for Best Non-scripted Entertainment Program.

Top Gear star Paddy is super-excited to get on board and said about his new role: "A show like this doesn't come along very often so I am thrilled to have been asked to host I Can See Your Voice.

"It’s bonkers, silly and the ultimate family night in. Everyone can play along at home and I'm looking forward to welcoming the good and the bad to our stage.

"The show has been a huge success around the world so here’s to making it the one to watch in the UK in 2021."

The new show is inviting people wishing to take part to check out the online applications via www.bbc.co.uk/takepart.

Hopefully the star will be at less risk of danger on the set of the music gameshow compared to Top Gear.

In June the comedian was involved in a car crash while filming the thrilling show.

The comedian also hosts BBC's Top Gear (PA)

The star was left uninjured but "shaken" after the 1990 Lamborghini Diablo he was driving sped off the road after he misjudged a corner.

A source told The Sun at the time: "Paddy is fine but a bit shaken as anyone would be when having a scare at speed.

"It could have been a lot worse.

"There's always paramedics and police on a Top Gear shoot so he was in good hands for a once-over but he's smiling as ever."

Police attended the collision involving the Lamborghini Diablo - which is worth a staggering £250,000.

When approached for comment, Top Gear told Mirror Online: “During Top Gear filming in North Yorkshire today presenter Paddy McGuinness's car skidded and left the road, coming to an almost immediate stop.

"Paddy was quickly taken to the production unit base for medical checks and is unhurt. No other vehicles were involved and the Police, who had been monitoring filming, were quickly on the scene to assist.

"Safety on Top Gear is always the production team’s priority and the vehicle's speed at the time was within the road’s limit of 60mph."
