Paddington Bear's emotional tribute to the Queen moves fans to tears

Paddington Bear has paid a heartfelt tribute to The Queen following her passing. In the moments since Buckingham Palace announced Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully this afternoon, tributes have been flooding in for Her Majesty.

Among them comes a sweet message from Paddington Bear, who recently featured in a sketch with the monarch as part of celebrations for her Platinum Jubilee. A tweet shared from Paddington's official Twitter account read: "Thank you Ma’am, for everything." And it has quickly gained thousands of likes from fans, who were delighted to see the pair team up for the BBC's Party at the Palace.

The tweet left a number of fans in tears and feeling "heartbroken".

One person said: "Didn’t think I’d be crying at Paddington today."

While another posted: "This one tweet has reduced me to a snivelling mess."

Others were quick offer their own tributes to the longest-serving British monarch.

Someone else wrote: "Very sad day. She was the greatest."

A different user said: "You are a berry special little bear! She thought so, too."

A third added: "I loved that little film she made with Paddington for her Platinum Jubilee. She had a lovely twinkle in her eye."

And a fellow well-wisher replied: "Yes it was charming."

The adorable clip in question, which was initially kept secret from the royal family, showed the famous duo sharing marmalade sandwiches in Buckingham Palace.

It appeared to be a particular favourite with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who beamed with delight when watching their great-granny's performance.

The Queen leaves behind four children, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Archie and Lilibet.

Her eldest son and heir Prince Charles is now King with Camilla as Queen Consort.

Buckingham Palace confirmed: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."
