Packers WR Davante Adams (toe) not practicing, ‘getting a little bit better each and every day’

Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams is improving, but he still wasn’t able to practice on Thursday afternoon.

Coach Matt LaFleur said Adams, who injured his toe against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 26 and missed Sunday’s win over the Dallas Cowboys, is “getting a little bit better each and every day,” but he had no update on his availability this week.

Adams was on the sideline in street clothes for the start of Packers practice on Thursday, per Wes Hodkiewicz of the team’s official site. He will almost certainly be listed as “did not participate” on the week’s first injury report.

The Packers scored 34 points and beat the Cowboys without Adams in Week 5, improving their record to 4-1. The team plays on “Monday Night Football” this week, giving Adams another day to get ready, but there’s no guarantee he’ll be able to play against the Detroit Lions.

Adams caught 10 passes for a career-high 180 yards against the Eagles. He has 25 catches for 378 yards in four games.

Without Adams in Dallas, the Packers decided to lean on running back Aaron Jones and spread the ball around in the passing game. Jones produced 182 total yards and four touchdowns, while quarterback Aaron Rodgers hit nine different receivers.

The Packers will provide injury reports on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with official injury designations for players coming on Saturday’s report.
