Packers WR Davante Adams to be evaluated for turf toe injury

Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams will get a full examination of what he believes is a turf toe injury suffered during Thursday night’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Adams suffered the injury after making his 10th catch of the night in the fourth quarter. He was examined on the sideline in the blue medical tent and didn’t return to the game, ending a night that included a career-high 180 receiving yards.

After the game, Adams was unable to put a shoe on his injured foot due to the pain.

“I would have been out there if I could, but I was in a little bit of a pain,” Adams said Thursday night. “It’s tough, with a toe injury, and the type of player I am, what my game is based on is explosion. If I can’t get out there and do my thing, I’m in a lot of pain, it’s tough.”

Rapoport said Dr. Robert Anderson, who is based in Green Bay, will lead the evaluation of Adams’ toe injury.

“We gotta check it out. We’ll look at it more tomorrow. Get a better idea of where I’m at,” Adams said.

The Packers don’t play for another 10 days, giving Adams time to figure out the problem and begin rehab on the injury. The Packers could be in trouble at receiver if Adams has to miss time.

Through four games, Adams leads the Packers in catches (25) and receiving yards (378).
