Packers WR Davante Adams feeling ‘a million times better’

Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams still isn’t practicing or sure when he’ll be back, but he is certain about the progress of his recovery from a turf toe injury.

Asked about the pain and management of the injury Thursday, Adams gave a positive update.

“It’s not even close. It’s a million times better,” Adams said in the locker room. “I have a lot more movement in it. More range of motion. That’s the type of stuff that I need. It’s a good sign for me getting back.”

Adams suffered the injury on Sept. 26. He’s missed back-to-back games and could miss Sunday’s visit from the Oakland Raiders, although he’s not yet ruling out the possibility of playing.

All along, Adams has remained sure about not coming back too early and risking the possibility of creating a serious, long-term issue.

“We’re getting there,” Adams said. “I’m getting better every day.”

Adams was one of three Packers receivers to miss practice Thursday. Geronimo Allison (chest/head) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (knee/ankle) also sat out with injuries suffered during Monday night’s win over the Detroit Lions.

If the three can’t go Sunday, the Packers would be forced to go with Jake Kumerow, Allen Lazard, Darrius Shepherd and newcomer Ryan Grant at receiver on Sunday against the Raiders.
