Packers won’t have to face Bucs WR Antonio Brown in NFC title game

One of Tom Brady’s weapons in the passing game won’t be available to face the Green Bay Packers in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.

According to Greg Auman of The Athletic, Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians ruled out receiver Antonio Brown for Sunday due to a knee injury he suffered during Tampa Bay’s win over the New Orleans Saints in the divisional round.

Brown played in eight regular-season games with the Bucs, catching 45 passes for 483 yards and three touchdowns. In two playoff games, he added three catches for 59 yards and a score.

While not a starter, Brown was on the field for at least 40 percent of the offense’s snaps in all 10 of his appearances this season.

Without Brown available, more snaps should be designated to receivers Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson behind starters Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Brown was not with the Buccaneers when they beat the Packers 38-10 in October.

Both teams will provide official injury designations later Friday.
