Packers waiving LB Nicholas Grigsby with failed physical designation

For the third time this summer, the Green Bay Packers are releasing a waiver claim due to a failed physical.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers waived linebacker Nicholas Grigsby – who was claimed on waivers from the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday – after he failed his physical.

Grigsby joins tight end Michael Roberts and cornerback Derrick Jones as waiver claims who failed physicals with the Packers.

The Packers were hoping Grigsby, an undrafted free agent from the 2016 draft, would help provide depth at inside linebacker and on special teams. Mike Pettine’s defense needs help at the position with both Oren Burks (pectoral muscle) and Curtis Bolton (knee) dealing with injuries.

Grigsby, 27, previously played for the Ravens, Detroit Lions and New England Patriots.
