Packers use exclusive rights tender to bring back WR Jake Kumerow

The Green Bay Packers are bringing back receiver Jake Kumerow with the exclusive rights tender, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

The one-year tender is worth $570,000 in 2019.

Kumerow, who played at Wisconsin-Whitewater, caught eight passes for 103 yards and one touchdown last season. The 27-year-old was a breakout star for the Packers during training camp and the preseason.

However, Kumerow injured his shoulder at the end of a touchdown catch during the second preseason game and was forced to begin the year on injured reserve. He returned and played in five games.

Coming back to Green Bay for the 2019 season will give Kumerow a chance to make the roster again and earn opportunities in Matt LaFleur’s new offense.

The Packers have tendered Kumerow, offensive linemen Justin McCray and Lucas Patrick and tight end Robert Tonyan. They also re-signed defensive lineman Fadol Brown.
