Packers to rule out WR Davante Adams (turf toe) vs. Lions

The Green Bay Packers won’t have receiver Davante Adams for the second straight game.

Coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Saturday that Adams will be ruled out for Monday night’s matchup with the Detroit Lions.

Adams injured his toe on Sept. 26 against the Philadelphia Eagles and then missed last week’s win over the Dallas Cowboys. He hasn’t practiced in any capacity since the injury.

Adams explained fear of attempting to come back too early and suffering a setback or creating a lingering, season-long issue.

The Packers scored 34 points and beat the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium despite quarterback Aaron Rodgers completing only four passes to receivers. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison, Jake Kumerow and Darrius Shepherd will handle the majority of the receiver snaps with Adams out again Monday.

The Packers were also without rookie safety Darnell Savage (ankle) and tight end Robert Tonyan (hip) at practice Saturday, suggesting both will miss Monday night’s game.

The Packers will release official injury designations later Saturday.
