Packers target Damon Harrison signs with Seahawks

The Green Bay Packers won’t be adding Damon “Snacks” Harrison.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Harrison has agreed to sign with the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad, canceling a reported visit he had in Green Bay on Wednesday.

A one-time All-Pro, Harrison clearly had a strong preference to play in Seattle, where he’ll join Russell Wilson and the unbeaten Seahawks. Harrison won’t be on the active roster but could be promoted or elevated to help the Seahawks defense.

New practice squad rules allow teams to sign veteran players to the practice squad. Harrison, 31, played the last two seasons with the Detroit Lions and has appeared in 117 career games.

It appears Harrison picked Seattle’s practice squad or a chance at a roster spot in Green Bay.

The Packers could theoretically sign Harrison off of the Seahawks’ practice squad, but he’d have to agree to terminate his contract and sign a new deal in Green Bay.

The Packers should return Kenny Clark from a groin injury coming out of the bye, and Tyler Lancaster is coming off his best game of the season against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.
