The Green Bay Packers will enter the fourth quarter of the NFC Championship Game down five points.
After a fumble set up a quick touchdown and a 28-10 lead for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to start the second half, quarterback Aaron Rodgers stormed the Packers back, throwing touchdown passes on back-to-back drives to cut the lead to 28-23.
Rodgers hit Robert Tonyan for an 8-yard touchdown to finish off an 8-play, 75-yard drive and then found Davante Adams for a 2-yard score to cap off a 13-play, 68-yard drive. Over the two drives, Rodgers completed 13 passes for 119 yards and both scores.
The Packers defense delivered a stop when safety Adrian Amos intercepted Tom Brady on an overthrown pass.
The Packers missed a two-point conversion after the second touchdown, leading to the five-point deficit. Receiver Equanimeous St. Brown dropped a pass that could have cut the lead to three points.
Rodgers and the passing offense are starting to click late in the contest, and both Jamaal Williams and A.J. Dillon have contributed chunk gains with Aaron Jones out with a chest injury.
The Packers have trailed much of the game. It will take a terrific effort in the fourth quarter to overcome Brady and the Bucs and advance to the Super Bowl.
