Packers sign P Drew Kaser, list P JK Scott as questionable

The Green Bay Packers are preparing for the possibility of not having punter JK Scott on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

The team signed veteran punter Drew Kaser to the 53-man roster on Saturday and listed Scott as questionable for Sunday due to a personal matter.

The Packers previously signed Kaser as an emergency punter option before a November game during the 2018 season.

A sixth-round pick of the Chargers in 2016, Kaser has punted 146 times in the NFL, averaging 47.4 yards and 40.2 net yards per punt. He’s placed 50 punts inside the 20-yard line. In 2016, he was the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 6.

Kaser hasn’t punted in a regular-season game since the 2018 season.

The Packers also elevated running back Mike Weber from the practice squad for Sunday, adding depth behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams with Tyler Ervin (injury) and A.J. Dillon (COVID-19) both out.
