Packers select Oregon C Jake Hanson at No. 208 overall

The Grene Bay Packers used the 208th pick in the 2020 NFL draft on Oregon center Jake Hanson.

Hanson started all four seasons at center for Oregon, playing in 50 total games with 49 starts. He was an honorable mention All-Pac 12 pick each of the four seasons.

The Packers continued to build the interior of the offensive line after taking Michigan offensive lineman Jon Runyan at No. 192 overall. Runyan and Hanson could be candidates to replace Corey Linsley, who will be an unrestricted free agent following the 2020 season.

Hanson was considered the No. 10 overall center in the draft, according to Dane Brugler of The Athletic.

From Brugler’s draft guide: “Overall, Hanson put together an impressive resume due to his well-schooled technique and nasty attitude, but he will struggle vs. the power of NFL interior linemen with questionable position flex, projecting as a possible NFL back-up.”

The Packers have another pick coming up right away at No. 209.
