Packers RT Bryan Bulaga hasn’t allowed a sack or QB hit in 2019

Green Bay Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga is 5-for-5 pitching shutouts to start the 2019 season.

Despite facing Khalil Mack, Danielle Hunter, Von Miller/Bradley Chubb, Brandon Graham and DeMarcus Lawrence, Bulaga has yet to allow a quarterback hit or sack through the first five games, according to Ben Fennell of The Athletic.

Bulaga will attempt to extend his streak to six straight games when he faces Detroit Lions defensive end Trey Flowers on Monday night at Lambeau Field. Flowers, who signed a five-year, $90 million deal in Detroit this offseason, has one sack and four quarterback hits in four games with the Lions.

The gauntlet continues for one of the NFL’s most underrated offensive linemen.

Bulaga has already played 157 pass-blocking snaps in 2019 without allowing a hit on quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He’s been penalized once for holding, but it was declined.

Bulaga, who left the Packers’ Week 4 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with a shoulder injury, returned in Week 5 and played one of his best games against Lawrence, the Cowboys’ top pass rusher:

Bulaga carried over his high-level play from last season. Over 145 pass-blocking snaps during his final three games of 2018, Bulaga didn’t allow a single pressure, quarterback hit or sack.

Now 30, Bulaga is playing the 2019 season on the final year of his contract.
