Packers reveal helmet decal honoring Hall of Fame QB Bart Starr

The Green Bay Packers are honoring the life and career of Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr with a special helmet decal this season.

Starr, who guided the Packers to five NFL championships and two Super Bowl victories, passed away at age 85 in May.

The team released the look of the decal in a photo posted to Twitter before Thursday night’s season opener against the Chicago Bears. The sticker will be worn between the green vertical stripes on the back of every helmet. It includes Starr’s name and the No. 15.

The decal is a visual reminder of everything Starr meant to the Packers franchise, the city of Green Bay and the state of Wisconsin. In every sense of the word, Starr was a legendary player and an iconic figure for the Packers and the NFL as a whole.

The Packers and Bears kick off the 2019 season at 7:20 p.m. CT at Soldier Field.
