Packers release guard Nico Siragusa, safety Jason Thompson

Two days after the end of the draft, the Green Bay Packers have released two players from the roster.

The team waived guard Nico Siragusa and safety Jason Thompson on Monday.

A draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2017, Siragusa was claimed off of Baltimore’s practice squad on Dec. 12 of last year. Thompson signed to the Packers’ practice squad on Dec. 4 of last year. Neither appeared in a regular season game.

The return of Cole Madison and the addition of second-round pick Elgton Jenkins likely made Siragusa expendable, while Thompson is the odd-man out at safety after the Packers used the No. 21 overall pick on Darnell Savage.

Both players will be subject to waivers.
