Packers RB Jamaal Williams stretchered off field after helmet-to-helmet hit

The Green Bay Packers say running back Jamaal Williams is being evaluated for a head and neck injury after Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett delivered an illegal helmet-to-helmet hit at the end of a short catch on Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

Williams went down immediately. He was strapped to a stretcher and taken off the field after a long evaluation by medical personnel.

Officials penalized Barnett and the Eagles 15 yards for the hit. He wasn’t ejected, despite launching into the hit while Williams was being held up in a pile.

The Packers revealed that Williams has feeling and movement in his extremities. According to Michelle Steele of ESPN, Williams was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
