Packers RB Aaron Jones officially inactive (calf) vs. Texans

The Green Bay Packers won’t have one of their top offensive weapons on Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Running back Aaron Jones is officially inactive for the Packers due to a calf injury.

Jones suffered the injury during Thursday’s practice and was listed as questionable. While the injury is considered mild, the Packers are being cautious with his recovery.

During the Packers’ first five games, Jones produced 550 total yards and seven touchdowns. He will miss a game for the first time since 2018.

The Packers will have Jamaal Williams, rookie A.J. Dillon and Dexter Williams available at running back against the Texans’ last-ranked run defense.

The Packers have a rough inactive list for Sunday. Joining Jones is left tackle David Bakhtiari, safety Darnell Savage, cornerback Kevin King, running back Tyler Ervin and defensive lineman Tyler Lancaster. All five are dealing with injuries.

Rookie quarterback Jordan Love is inactive for the sixth straight game to start his NFL career. He’s the No. 3 quarterback.
