Packers RB Aaron Jones named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 5

Four touchdowns and 182 total yards Sunday in Dallas helped Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones win NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 5, making him the second Packers player to take home a weekly award this season.

Jones joins outside linebacker Preston Smith, who was the NFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 3.

In need of some offensive firepower with Davante Adams out, Jones stepped up and delivered the most productive performance of his NFL career. He ran for 107 yards, tied the team record with four rushing touchdowns and set career-highs with seven catches and 75 receiving yards, powering the Packers to a 34-24 win.

Packers Wire counted at least 16 times that Jones either broke a one-on-one tackle or made a defender miss in the open field.

This is Jones’ first time winning award. He’s also the first Packers player to be named NFC Offensive Player of the Week since Aaron Rodgers in Week 5 in 2017 (another win over the Cowboys in Dallas).
