Packers RB Aaron Jones missing practice with hamstring tightness

For the second straight training camp, Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones will miss practice time with a hamstring issue.

Jones is sitting out of practice Wednesday with what the team is describing as hamstring tightness. Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports the Packers do not expect the issue to linger long term.

However, Jones had tightness in his hamstring early on during last year’s training camp and missed almost two weeks of practice.

The Packers will likely exercise caution with Jones, who is expected to be the No. 1 running back for Matt LaFleur’s new offense. Part of Jones creating a breakout season in 2019 will require staying healthy. He’s missed five games during his first two seasons with MCL injuries.

The Packers are also without running back Jamaal Williams, who has missed the last four practices with a hamstring injury. A lot of practice reps are available for rookie Dexter Williams and newcomers Corey Grant and Darrin Hall at Wednesday’s practice.
